1st Place in Section- 6th Overall for Karma in 102nd Race to Mackinac

Karma Crosses the Finish Line  (Photo Credit: Steve Blakely) July 27, 2010 Mackinac Island, MI - Team Karma (USA 55367) crossed the finish line on Monday Evening at 6:36 pm with an elapsed time of 53:56:20.  The corrected finish time of 47:31:12 had them finish in first place in the  19 boat Beneteau 36.7 Section and Sixth overall in the Mackinac Trophy division.  No strangers to the podium, the 2010 Karma 'Mac Team' consisting of  Steve Mathias, Jason Veatch, Cristina Cordero-Chadwick, Seth Morrell, Phil Toth and owners Jack Buoscio , Lou and Martin Sandoval. This win marks the fifth section win for Karma Sailing Group  in the past seven years.   101st Race to Mackinac   - 2009   Finished 3rd in Section 100th Race to Mackinac   - 2008    Finished 1st in Section, Third Overall Mackinac Trophy Division 99th Race to Mackinac     -2007    Withdrew 98th Race to Mackinac     -2006  Finished 1st in Section 97th Race to Mackinac    -2005   Finished 1st in Section 96th Race to Mack

  "KARMA" USA-55367 a Beneteau First 36.7 will be racing in the 102nd Running of Chicago Yacht Club's Race to Mackinac presented by  Veuve Cliquot Champagne.  Race Tracking will be available on on all boats (yay!) and is provided by Ion Earth.   The First 36.7 Section will start at 12:40pm on Saturday July 24th from the starting area just outside of the Chicago Lighthouse Harbor.   The Parade of Boats is available for our 'Land Fans' to watch from the end of Navy Pier.  We hope to pass by in the Parade around 10:30am to 10:45am. Owners Lou Sandoval, Jack Buoscio and Martin Sandoval welcome back returning crew members Steve Mathias, Cristina Cordero-Chadwick and Seth Morrell who have all been members of Karma's successful MAC campaigns in '04, '05, '06, '08 and '09.   Joining them this year is longtime Crew member Jason Veatch who will be doing his FIRST Mac.    Jason recently purchased his own boat ( Veni Vidi Veatchi ) -none other t

Chicago NOOD Regatta on the horizon!

Hawks Captain Jonathan Toews hoists the cup in victory First and foremost Congratulations to the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks on their great season and amazing ending.   Being the big hockey fans that team KARMA is, this weekend is going a tough one.   The Blackhawks Stanley Cup parade will be this Friday, starting at 10:30am and we have this "thing" called a regatta that starts at the same time about 8-10 miles East/Southeast from where the victory parade will end up.   Yes we'll be one of the 250+ sailboats 'with the pretty sails" racing out on Lake Michigan.  The CHICAGO NOOD regatta starts this Friday.  Stay tuned for our updates and you can track the race results on the Sailing World website:  http://www.sailingworld.com/article/2008-Chicago-NOOD-Info-Center To read about the FIRST 36.7 Fleet at the NOOD regattas See you out on the water!
