Karma Sailing Group: From the left- Martin Sandoval, Lou Sandoval Karma Sailing Group Finishes 2016 Season-Signals indicate a change for the future November 10, 2016 The Karma Sailing Group crossed the 108th Race to Mackinac in 41:35:26 finishing third place in the 36.7 section and 12th overall in the Mackinac Trophy division.  As the gun went off to cross the finish line, only a few members knew that is the last time they might sail the historic race as a team as a plan to break the team up had already begun.   Fast forward to the recent Race to Mackinac Awards ceremony at Chicago Yacht Club - Remaining owners Martin Sandoval and Lou Sandoval attended the  Awards ceremony as the two remaining owners of the prodigious race program that garnered an unprecedented 12 podium finishes since campaigning the 36.7 program in the Race to Mackinac and a record setting eight 1st place finishes in 14 years.   The conspicuous absence of the team that had stood shou...

Follow KARMA USA-55367 in the Race to Mackinac

  "KARMA" USA-55367 a Beneteau First 36.7 will be racing in the 102nd Running of Chicago Yacht Club's Race to Mackinac presented by  Veuve Cliquot Champagne.  Race Tracking will be available on on all boats (yay!) and is provided by Ion Earth.   The First 36.7 Section will start at 12:40pm on Saturday July 24th from the starting area just outside of the Chicago Lighthouse Harbor.   The Parade of Boats is available for our 'Land Fans' to watch from the end of Navy Pier.  We hope to pass by in the Parade around 10:30am to 10:45am. First 36.7 Section Start in the 100th Running of the Race to Mackinac (2008) It's a bit over one week away. On July 18, 2009 at 12:40pm Central time, the Beneteau First 36.7 Section will cross the start line for the 101st Running of the Race to Mackinac. For a fleet that has been in existence since 2002 in Lake Michigan, the twenty boat section for the 2009 Mac Race will once again be competing for the Mackinac Cup. While many other brands have tried to lay claim to being easy to sail or one of the fastest growing on Lake Michigan, they pale in comparison the First 36.7 Fleet . Having grown from just an eight boat fleet it's first year of launch, The 36.7's have have maintained a consistent growth rate over the past eight seasons. Even this year, amidst all the economic challenges in the country, they have added to the fleet where other fleets have lost members or been flat in growth.
